Tomato Rasam: Rasam is Delicious, spicy lentil broth that contains herbal properties. It is a stimulating drink that can also be served as as appetizer. Use Milan Rasam Powder and relish the original flavour of Rasam.
REQUIREMENTS: 4tbsp Toor Dal , 6tbsp Tamarind Pulp, 1 Tamato, 1/4 cup Coriander leaves, 200ml Tomato Puree, 4-5 Green Chillies, a pinch of Turmeric, Salt to taste, 3tbsp Veg oil, 1/2tbsp Musturd Seeds, 3-4 whole Red Chillies, 1/2 tbsp Ginger Paste, 1/4 tbsp Milan Chilly Powder, 1/2 tbsp semi-crushed Pepper Corns, a Pinch of Milan Asafoetida, 3tbsp Milan Rasam PowderBoil the Dal with salt and turmeric in 4 cups of water. Cover and simmer till the Dal is mashed and Strain it through a fine cloth in a seperate vessel. Remove the Dal collected in the cloth. Heat the oil in a vessel, add Musturd, Cumin seeds, Green Chillies, Red Chillies, Ginger Paste, 3tbsp MILAN RASAM POWDER and saute over medium heat. Add Tomato pieces, Chilli Powder and Tomato Puree. Add 1/4 tbsp. Chilly Powder. stir well. Add a pinch of Asafoetida, 1/2tbsp, Semi-crushed Pepper Corns and salt to taste. Transfer the strained Dal and Tamarind pulp to vessel and add 3-4 cups of water. Add some coriander leaves and bring to boil. Serve Hot
